What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that involves using sterile surgical scalpel or a specialised tool to gently exfoliate the surface skin. The process removes dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, often referred to as “peach fuzz” from the face. By removing the top layer of skin, dermaplaning stimulates cell regeneration and improves skin texture, over time regular dermaplaning can reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne scars and uneven skin tone.

Skincare products such as serums and moisturisers penetrate more effectively after the treatment. Make up enthusiasts will benefit from smooth application of product for a flawless finish.

You should avoid this treatment if you have active acne or rosacea, skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis. A full consultation will be given at time for booking.


What happens during the treatment?
Consultation : To determine if dermaplaning is right for you.

Preparation : Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed to remove makeup, oil and debris. Using an pro cleanse lotion to ensure your skin is squeaky clean.

Nourshining Balm : A light application of balm will be applied to allow a smooth glide over the skin.

Dermaplaning : Using a sterile, surgical grade scalpel, to gently scrap across the skin in short controlled strokes. The process takes about 20—30 mins.

Treat & Protect : After the procedure, a soothing mask is applied to nourish the skin. Finished with serums and hydrating moisturising are applied, and protected with Shield 50+.

Optional Add-On Treatments?

Chemical Peels : Can be layered after dermaplaning for deeper exfoliation.

LED Light Therapy : To promote healing and reduce inflammation.

How many treatments should I have?

Every 6-8 weeks, for maintenance and glow.

What are the side effects?
Dermaplaning is considered safe, however it can have some side effects, most are mild and temporary.

• Slight redness or a flushed appearance is common immediately after treatment and typically resolves within a few hours to a day.

• Your skin may feel more sensitive to touch or skincare products for a short period.

• Exfoliating the top layer of skin can sometimes cause dryness, particularly if you skip moisturiser.

• Newly exfoliated skin is more prone to UV damage, so proper sun protection is essential.

Less common side effects are include Minor scratches or nicks Cuts or Nicks. Some people experience clogged pores or breakouts after treatment due to the removal of hair, which may temporarily disrupt oil flow.

What aftercare will I need to follow?
Proper aftercare following a dermaplaning treatment is essential to protect your skin, maximize results and prevent irritation.

Use Sunscreen (Sheild 50+ recommended) and avoid direct sun exposure.

Avoid harsh products, refrain from using exfoliants, retinoids or AHA/BHA’s for 5-7 days as they can irritat freshly exfoliated skins.

Avoid makeup and stay hydrated.

Skip certain activities, steer clear of saunas, steam rooms or intense workouts. No swimming.
